They'd been directed by their host to park away from the house and approach this way, which is brilliant. We open on Halloween as Terry and his girlfriend Niki approach the Cameron Mansion for an all-night costume party. I'd forgotten that this is one of the better Fear Street books, perhaps the best, we'll see, in terms of of a capable heroine, plot, and atmosphere. I'd read some reviews over the years and I remembered bits of the plot, but only some of the more ridiculous elements, such as Justine's suspiciously excessive shoe closet. ![]() I re-read this one for the first time since grade school. ![]()
